Winners of the Association Awards UK 2018

Nine categories with 27 shortlisted executives and associations took part in the Association Awards UK ceremony on 18th December at the Novotel London West for a sumptuous dinner.

Birmingham

CHH - Hall 1

Unmatched spaciousness: With 3,000 seats, Hall 1 is Hamburg’s largest auditorium with fixed seating. Its brick walls, which are under historic preservation protection, have been restored and are shining in beauty as on the very first day. The elegant and comfortable seats were custom-designed for the CCH by Italian manufacturer Poltrona Frau and are arranged in ascending rows. The 280 square-meter stage can be enlarged to as much as 365 square meters.

Crossing The Mur River

Graz is separated in two by the River Mur. To celebrate the city being named the European Capital of Culture in 2003, an artificial floating island called Murinsel was constructed. Murinsel can be accessed from both sides of the river via footbridges. Designed by artist Vito Acconci, the structure has been described as “a bowl that morphs into a dome that morphs into a bowl”.

Our second hall with permanent seating by Poltrona Frau, Hall Z has capacity for up to 965 seats. Located on the third level of the CCH East section, it boasts 820 square meters of gross surface area and an impressive eight-meter clear height.

Shopping

The shops and boutiques are an assortment - a choice from casual outfits to elegant robes, affordable second-hand accessories can be found next to expensive jewellery, and traditional costumes compete for attention with flashy designer fashion. Around the Main Square you will find a number of charming lanes lined with shops and boutiques. In the Middle Ages Graz was an important trading centre and this old tradition is reflected in today’s great number of stores.

Anca has been with AAE since 2011, and manages the Association Awards programme of three Awards per year internationally, and she produces Association Success story case studies for our Resource Centre.
Anca has a BA in Sociology, and an MA from the University of Greenwhich. She is a certified Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a Certified Master Practitioner of Time Line Therapy and a Certified Master Hypnotist.
