UKWA announces key leadership appointments

The UK Warehousing Association has welcomed Edwin Morgan and Sharon Mughal to its executive leadership team, enhancing its capabilities in policy and membership.

The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) has recently announced the appointment of two senior figures to its executive leadership team. Both Edwin Morgan and Sharon Mughal joined the Association in January, with Morgan taking on the role of Policy & Public Affairs Director, while Mughal assumes the position of Head of Membership.

Edwin Morgan brings with him a wealth of experience in policy, public affairs, and communications, amassing over 15 years in the field. Prior to joining UKWA, he served as Director of Policy at the Institute of Directors, which is noted as the UK’s longest-running membership organisation for business leaders. His background includes collaboration with a diverse range of companies, from large corporations to start-ups, where he represented their perspectives to ministers and senior civil servants across various administrations. In his new role, Morgan will focus on amplifying the collective voice of UKWA members on critical issues, including efforts to decarbonise the economy, enhance workforce skills, initiate planning reform, and advocate for reductions in business rates.

Sharon Mughal’s appointment follows her extensive 16-year career in membership roles within trade associations, including her recent experience in the temperature-controlled logistics sector, where she spent the last four years leading membership teams and fostering engagement. As Head of Membership, Mughal will guide UKWA’s team, which is dedicated to providing support and valuable resources to its members.

In addition to these senior appointments, UKWA has also enhanced its leadership structure with the appointment of Debby Potts as Operations Director, taking on new responsibilities within the organisation. Furthermore, Lisa Schulze has transitioned into the newly created role of Senior Relationships & Sales Manager, signalling a strategic shift in the UKWA's operational approach.
