Railway Industry Association launches new training programme to enhance skills
The Railway Industry Association (RIA) has officially launched a new training service aimed at enhancing and refining skills within the railway sector in the UK. This initiative follows a successful pilot programme conducted last year and is targeted towards RIA members, as well as a broad spectrum of professionals involved in the railway industry.
The training programme features a variety of courses designed to cater to different levels of experience and expertise. Among the offerings is the "Introduction to UK Rail," a one-day course tailored for individuals who are new to the railway sector. This course is suitable for a wide range of participants, including apprentices, recruiters, business development managers, and even established professionals who are transitioning into rail.
Another significant course in the roster is "Accelerating Success — ESG-Driven Growth Strategies for Rail," which is also a one-day course. It is specifically designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating at any tier of the supply chain, providing them with valuable strategies to foster growth influenced by environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
Moreover, the RIA has introduced a "Work Winning in Rail Masterclass," a comprehensive two-day course aimed at organisations seeking to secure contracts both domestically in the UK and abroad. This masterclass is structured to enhance attendees' skills in competitive bidding and market penetration.
All training sessions have been developed in consultation with RIA members to ensure relevance and practicality. Each course is delivered in a collaborative classroom environment, with class sizes limited to 12-18 participants to facilitate effective learning and interaction.
The initiative represents a strategic effort to bolster the capabilities of the railway workforce, respond to ongoing challenges within the industry, and support growth objectives amid a changing economic landscape.
