PLMA gears up for largest World of Private Label trade show in 2025

The Private Label Manufacturers’ Association prepares for its biggest event yet, with over 3,100 exhibitors at the 2025 World of Private Label International Trade Show in Amsterdam.

The Private Label Manufacturers’ Association (PLMA) is preparing for its largest gathering yet, the 2025 World of Private Label International Trade Show, which will take place on 20 and 21 May at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre. This event, anticipated to be a significant milestone for the industry, will see a record number of exhibitors showcasing the latest trends and innovations in private-label products from across the globe.

More than 3,100 exhibitors are expected to participate, representing over 70 countries. New pavilions from regions such as Canada, Scotland, Bulgaria, Morocco, and Ukraine will contribute to the extensive offering. The trade show will be divided into distinct Food and Non-Food halls, providing attendees with a streamlined experience to explore emerging trends and new product developments across all Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) categories.

The event is billed as an essential opportunity for networking, insight gathering, and collaboration among industry stakeholders. PLMA has established a reputation as the premier meeting place for the private-label sector, and this year's show aims to fulfill that expectation by highlighting various key components that facilitate industry growth.

Central to the experience will be PLMA’s Idea Supermarket®, which will feature the latest trends in private-label products and innovative packaging solutions. Additionally, a series of expert-led seminars will address important topics in the industry. Representatives from notable organisations, including Jumbo Supermarkten from the Netherlands and NielsenIQ, will present their analyses regarding private-label market shares in Europe, providing valuable intelligence for attendees.

Peggy Davies, president of PLMA, remarked on the ongoing evolution of private label within the marketplace, stating, “As private label continues to expand across all markets, companies are seeking innovative products, sustainable solutions, and dependable business partners. This year’s event will spotlight key trends like sustainability and health-conscious products, while offering exhibitors and buyers an ideal opportunity to connect and grow their businesses.”

The significance of private-label brands is evident in recent market trends. According to NielsenIQ, overall private-label sales in Europe reached €352 billion in 2024, indicating a modest increase in market share from the previous year. NielsenIQ's comprehensive survey, undertaken across 17 European markets for the upcoming 2025 International Private Label Yearbook, revealed that private-label sales experienced growth in nine of those countries, suggesting a robust demand for these products.

Looking ahead, a recent survey conducted by PLMA among private-label manufacturers and retailers indicated a positive industry outlook, with nine out of ten professionals forecasting continued sales growth in the years to come. The anticipation surrounding the upcoming trade show is already reflective of this optimism, as companies prepared to gather and forge new partnerships.
