The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) has announced the appointments of Julia Rosen as Senior Vice President of IT and Sam Shaheen as Vice President of Marketing as part of its latest organisational changes.
Julia Rosen arrives at MGMA with over 20 years of experience in leading technology initiatives, particularly in the healthcare sector. Rosen has significant expertise in healthcare IT, having advised on various aspects including electronic medical records, data analytics, enterprise architecture, and information security. She also serves on the board of directors for the Colorado Chapter of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), where she advocates for modernising patient experiences and encourages female participation in technology.
Sam Shaheen, meanwhile, brings over 18 years of expertise in marketing leadership across various sectors, predominantly in healthcare. His previous position was at Aegis Financial, where he led marketing initiatives that resulted in a 20% year-on-year growth through strategies focused on customer needs. Shaheen has also worked with healthcare marketing teams at Jogan Health, a pandemic vaccine supplier, and DNA Vibe, a health device company.
Halee Fischer-Wright, MD, MMM, FAAP, FACMPE, President and Chief Executive Officer of MGMA, expressed her enthusiasm regarding the new appointments. "I am thrilled to have Sam and Julia a part of our MGMA team as we continue our efforts to drive meaningful transformation for the medical practices we serve,” she stated. She highlighted that both leaders have a proven track record of improving customer experiences, aligning with MGMA’s goals to enhance service quality in the evolving healthcare landscape.
