Hospitality Women’s Innovation Council joins Women in Hospitality Leadership Alliance

The Hospitality Women’s Innovation Council has become the 34th member of the Women in Hospitality Leadership Alliance, aiming to enhance support for women in hospitality. The partnership will focus on various initiatives to promote women's growth and development in the industry.

The Hospitality Women’s Innovation Council (HWIC) has officially joined the Women in Hospitality Leadership Alliance (WHLA) as its 34th member. This partnership aims to enhance support for women and underserved communities within the hospitality industry, with a specific focus on encouraging participation in various initiatives and programs facilitated by the WHLA.

The WHLA was established in 2021 as a consortium of organisations dedicated to advancing women in the hospitality sector. Georgine Muntz, CEO of Visual Matrix, expressed her enthusiasm about the new membership, stating, “The alliance is the flagship organization promoting women across the hotel industry, and the council is thrilled to join their ranks as the latest group helping to build bridges across the hospitality tech landscape.” She continued, highlighting the council's role in fostering a supportive environment for women in the industry: “Through collaboration and ongoing contact, the council has helped create a groundswell of support for women’s growth and development across hospitality tech, and alongside the alliance, we plan to continue escalating the conversation until our industry is as innovative and efficient as we all know it can be."

Founded in 2023, the HWIC aims to tackle challenges faced by hotels while promoting collaboration among various stakeholders and technology roles. The council comprises executives from hotel companies, technology developers, and members from the American Hotel and Lodging Association’s (AHLA) ForWard initiative, amongst others. Rachel Humphrey, the founder and chair of WHLA, noted the active involvement of the HWIC in the organisation's development. “We are excited to formally welcome them to the alliance, help amplify their efforts, and foster collaboration among all the organizations,” she stated. “Together, we are stronger, and the entire hotel industry benefits.”

In a move to further support its mission, WHLA, in collaboration with CJ Media Solutions, will provide quarterly media training for participating organisations, delivering expertise from media and PR professionals across various formats, including interviews, videos, podcasts, and panels. In August, the WHLA introduced an interactive speaker directory that showcases over 700 senior-level women experts, enhancing visibility and opportunities for female leaders in the hospitality sector.
