Construction Equipment Association welcomes new chief executive Viki Bell

The CEA embarks on a new chapter under the leadership of Viki Bell, who aims to enhance the association's impact and value for its members.

The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) is undergoing a significant transition as it welcomes a new chief executive, Viki Bell, who takes over following the departure of Suneeta Johal in March 2024. Bell, who joined the CEA around the same time Johal left, has already made notable contributions to the organisation in her previous roles as business development and partnerships manager, before being promoted to operations manager.

In her new position, Bell expressed enthusiasm about the developments within the CEA over the past year, highlighting the achievements accomplished behind the scenes as well as the momentum generated within the association. "The past year has been exciting – not only in terms of what we’ve achieved behind the scenes but in the energy and momentum we’ve built," Bell stated. She also acknowledged the invaluable support received from members, industry partners, and other associations, alongside the encouragement from the trade press that has raised awareness about the CEA's initiatives. She emphasised that the CEA remains committed to progress and aims to deliver substantial value to its members and the larger industry.

Bell's appointment comes at a time when the CEA is poised to implement its strategic plans for 2025 and beyond. "With a strong team, new partnerships, and a clear plan for 2025 and beyond, I’m looking forward to the challenge," she added, indicating her aspirations for solidifying and expanding the association's impact in the coming years.

Paul Ross, chair of the CEA executive board, commended Bell’s leadership during her tenure as operations director, crediting her with a clear vision for the future of the association, which he described as grounded in professionalism, transparency, and accountability. "Viki’s appointment as chief executive is the result of a year of outstanding leadership in her role as director of operations," Ross remarked. He praised her exceptional ability to restructure and refocus the CEA while continuing to address the immediate needs of its members.

Under Bell's direction, the CEA has attained measurable progress, including the implementation of more efficient systems and improved communications. Ross noted the association has developed a more confident and modern identity that aligns with the industry's evolving landscape. "Her understanding of both the challenges and opportunities facing our members makes her the right person to lead the association through its next phase of growth," he affirmed.

The CEA, representing various machinery manufacturers, plays a crucial role in the construction equipment sector, focusing on delivering value and enhancing collaboration within the industry. As it moves forward under Bell’s leadership, the association aims to strengthen its strategic partnerships and improve its service offerings tailored to the diverse needs of its members.

With the construction sector facing an array of challenges and opportunities, the CEA is positioned to continue adapting and innovating, supporting its members in navigating the complexities of the industry. Bell's leadership is likely to be instrumental in guiding the CEA as it embarks on this new chapter.
