CEETRA successfully holds annual meeting with new members and future plans

The Central and Eastern European Travel Retail Association convenes to discuss achievements, welcome new members, and outline future initiatives to enhance engagement with the industry.

The Central and Eastern European Travel Retail Association (CEETRA) convened for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) via an online platform on February 21, 2023. The meeting brought together industry stakeholders to discuss past activities and outline future initiatives.

CEETRA Chairman Andrzej Milaszewicz, representing Lagardère Travel Retail Poland, opened the session by reviewing the association's accomplishments over the previous year. Alan Bork from ABARC presented the annual financial accounts during the meeting.

In a move to enhance membership, CEETRA welcomed four new members during the AGM: Choco-Me Kft., Első Magyar Gin Manufaktúra, Gorzelnia Rolnicza, and Montenegro Duty Free. Milaszewicz emphasised the significance of these additions, stating, “Three of our new members are regional brands, thus representing the communities which are so important for our industry. Travelers should connect with the region they are in, and no one can reflect this better than local producers in our airports.”

The chairman also summarised the highlights of the past year, noting the success of two Travel Retail Forums that took place in Budapest and Gdansk. Both events saw an increase in attendance, and the feedback from participants indicated that the format and content were positively received.

Looking ahead, CEETRA plans to broaden its focus to engage with other regions and delve into discussions surrounding HR-related topics, as well as exploring the impact of emerging technologies on commercial operations within travel hubs. This strategic direction aims to further strengthen the association's role in the evolving landscape of travel retail.
