AEM launches youth industry engagement council to connect with future agricultural leaders

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has initiated a Youth Industry Engagement Council to strengthen connections between the agriculture equipment sector and youth organisations.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has announced the creation of a Youth Industry Engagement Council, aiming to strengthen ties between the agriculture equipment sector and youth organisations. This initiative was publicly revealed during the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Week, signifying a strategic move to enhance engagement with upcoming generations within the agricultural community.

Trevor Calewart, the AEM Ag Services Manager, will be overseeing the council. In a statement, Calewart expressed enthusiasm regarding the formation of the council, stating, “We are excited to launch this council to bring our members together and discuss the great work being done with the next generation of leaders in our industry.” He further elaborated on the council's intended objectives, which include fostering increased industry involvement with various youth organisations, including FFA, Agriculture Future of America (AFA), and 4-H.

The AEM's announcement detailed several core goals for the council. These encompass leveraging engagement opportunities with youth organisations, advocating for programmes that resonate with these groups, and enhancing overall involvement from AEM members within these youth initiatives. Calewart added, “We’re thrilled to be able to work alongside our members to help develop ways to foster greater engagement with youth organizations and collaborate on strategies and tactics to support promoting them to the wider public.”
