About the role

The role of the Project Officer is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the EU and contribute to our core activities, including the implementation of key projects and outreach activities. To perform their role, the Project Officer will be in contact with a variety of funders, institutional stakeholders, and civil society organizations and have the opportunity to participate in various communication, advocacy, and capacity-building projects’ development, implementation, and reporting. 

Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Overseeing the planning, implementation, and reporting of projects, ensuring they align with EMI's strategic objectives and are completed within set timelines and budgets. 

Event Organization:

  • Coordinating high-level stakeholder events, both digital and in-person, which involves logistical planning, participant coordination, and post-event follow-up. 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Maintaining regular communication with project partners, members, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure project objectives are met. 

Administrative Duties:

  • Handling administrative tasks such as preparing progress reports, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Capacity Building:

  • Contributing to the development of the network's member organizations by assisting with training delivery, providing support, and developing tailored tools to enhance their capabilities.

Skills, Competencies & Experience

  • Knowledge of EU funding programmes 
  • Experience in project application, implementation, and reporting  
  • Strong research and analytical skills 
  • Strong organization skills 
  • Ability to reach out and gather information from third parties 
  • Ability to process and present data and information  
  • Knowledge of the EU institutions 
  • Knowledge of Excel and similar software 
  • Confident and independent 
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Professional at the start of their career. 
  • Pro-active and dynamic personality, with team spirit, ability to multi-task, well-organized, flexible. 
  • Proficiency in English and knowledge of French/Dutch is an advantage. 

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree, Preferably in Social Sciences.
