About the role
As EUCRTA’s Program Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our advocacy, research, and policy initiatives. This position is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about democracy and governance. You will support key projects, assist in stakeholder engagement, and help bridge the gap between the Western Balkans and European institutions.
Responsibilities
Coordination of Activities:
- Provide administrative and logistical support to ensure the seamless execution of EUCRTA's projects and strategic initiatives.
Advocacy Campaigns and Events:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing meetings, events, and outreach activities with EU stakeholders and civil society partners.
Research and Briefing Preparation:
- Conduct research, draft reports, and prepare briefings on topics related to democracy, governance, and EU integration.
Communications and Outreach:
- Support media engagement, content development, and external communications to enhance EUCRTA's visibility and influence.
Documentation and Internal Coordination:
- Maintain organized records, track reports, and manage workflows to facilitate effective collaboration within the team.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
- Strong understanding of Serbia, the Western Balkans, and EU institutional processes, including the role of civil society in democratic development.
- Proven experience in administrative support, project assistance, or related roles, with a background in event coordination, office management, or logistics being highly valued.
- Exceptional skills in managing multiple priorities, working independently, and supporting complex advocacy initiatives.
- Ability to produce clear and concise briefing materials, reports, and policy insights.
- Fluency in English and Serbian, Bosnian, or Croatian is essential; proficiency in French is considered an asset.
Desirable:
- French or Dutch proficiency is a plus
- Comfort with technology tools (cloud-based collaboration tools, project management, HR, and finance software)
- Some familiarity with the political context in Serbia and the Western Balkans
- Experience with fundraising, grants, and donor management
