Responsibilities

  • Social media supporting the development of NACE’s social media communities to create and schedule content, monitoring results/trends, and suggesting new approaches to trial; responding to messages on these platforms on behalf of NACE.
  • Events: hosting NACE’s online events, including live webinars, courses and networking events; supporting the running of in-person events, including courses, member meetups and conferences; facilitating online participation for remote attendees of in-person events.
  • Membership communications working alongside colleagues to develop, review, optimize, and send communications to new, established, and prospective members – including onboarding materials, regular updates on new resources and opportunities, and marketing/lead-nurturing communications.
  • CRM database maintaining an accurate database of our members and other contacts, including inputting data, checking and updating records, following up on bounced email addresses, reporting and downloading data, checking records with empty fields and completing these where possible, and any other actions to maintain clean data.
  • Membership applications and renewals: responding promptly to review and approve membership applications following the procedures currently in place for both new members and renewals, and supporting the Membership and Operations Officer to review these processes.
  • Responding to member queries and common queries from current and potential members via phone and email, liaising with others in the team as needed.
  • Supporting membership reporting, research and engagement initiatives, for example, helping to identify member accounts with low engagement and sending communications to prompt engagement; researching details about potential new member groups (targeted by region/organisation type).
  • General administrative duties such as setting up and monitoring office contracts and meeting room bookings and acting as contact with HTA for premises issues
  • Monitored stock levels and ordered office stationery and other materials
  • Working with other members of the NACE team to ensure appropriate cover in the event of colleague absence
  • Any other duties as deemed commensurate with the post and requirements of the charity

Skills, Competencies, & Experience

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience of using social media platforms such as Facebook,
  • Instagram, X, and LinkedIn
  • Experience of using databases
  • Excellent track record in customer service
  • Experience of working to achieve targets
  • Experience with online event platforms such as Zoom

Skills:

  • IT literate in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a small team
  • Able to show attention to detail in following procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communication

  • Experience helping to organise/run in-person events
  • Ability to adapt content format and tone of voice to suit different contexts, including for a range of social media platforms
  • Good video filming and editing skills 
  • Confident in communicating professionally on behalf of the organisation in a range of contexts, on- and offline

Required Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualifications (A-level or equivalent) including a good pass in maths and English at GCSE
  • Degree or equivalent in areas such as communications or marketing
