About the Organisation
Global Pulse Confederation (GPC) is the apex body for the global pulse industry, representing all segments of the value chain from growers to consumers. With 16 National Associations and over 600 private sector members, GPC is at the forefront of promoting pulses as smart crops for a sustainable future. We are licensed as a trade association by DMCC in Dubai and also registered as a non-profit organization in the USA.
About the role
CEO, you will drive our mission to encourage increased production and consumption of pulse crops worldwide, championing their role in sustainable agriculture and global food security. You will report directly to the Executive Management Committee (Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Treasurer) and work with a diverse Advisory Board with members from more than 20 countries.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction aligning with GPC's goals and mission
- Ensure operational excellence and foster a culture of innovation
Industry Advocacy:
- Represent GPC at global forums and events (UN FAO, WTO, COP)
- Promote free and fair trade of pulses globally
- Engage with stakeholders to drive industry-wide initiatives
Organizational Management:
- Oversee a diverse staff of 10 persons
- Oversee financial management and ensure fiscal sustainability
- Lead membership growth initiatives
- Manage board and committee relationships
Innovation and Development:
- Drive research and development initiatives
- Identify and secure grant funding for strategic projects
Skills, Competencies & Experience
- 10+ years of executive leadership experience, preferably in agriculture or food industry
- Proven track record in business strategy and financial management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Understanding of international trade and trade issues
- Ideal candidates speak English natively and will be fluent in one or more other languages, reflecting the diversity of our membership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, and similar fields.
