Over the years, the accreditation program has gone from strength to strength and, as a result, multiple strands of accreditation have been developed which include Apprenticeship Accreditation, Foundation Accreditation, Standard Accreditation, Advanced Accreditation, Master's Accreditation, Doctoral Training Accreditation, and International Accreditation.

About the role

The Accreditation Officer will join a small dedicated team, managed by the Director responsible for Accreditation, Training and Professional Registers. The successful candidate will help to ensure that the objectives in the RSB five-year business plan are met, with an emphasis on facilitating accreditation applications, including attending site visits as a Society representative. In addition, there will be a requirement to assist with the administration of Professional Registers and our Training offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with higher education institutions and external stakeholders.
  • Research appropriate organizations' contacts to inform and approach regarding the benefits of accreditation and the ways they can become involved with the Degree Accreditation Programme.
  • Administrative support for the committees associated with accreditation.
  • Ensure adequate numbers of assessors are recruited and trained.
  • Director Team to successfully plan and facilitate accreditation applications, including attending site visits as a Society representative and note-taker.
  • Director and Events Team to organize high-profile events to promote accreditation to a range of audiences, including universities, employers, and students.
  • Director is to meet all deliverables as laid out in the RSB five-year business plan.
  • Provide support to the Professional Registers and Training team as required.
  • Additional related work as deemed necessary by the Royal Society of Biology.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree level 6 Qualification in Biological Sciences and Equivalent Relevant.

Working locations

  • London with office occasional UK travel required.
