This seminar will provide actionable insights into how associations can embed sustainability into their overall strategy.
Sally Edgington, CEO, AXREM and Christopher Taylor, Sustainability Lead UKI at Philips will share their experience with AXREM’s work on sustainability, and the efforts of its members, including the development of the AXREM Sustainability Special Focus Group and the recently launched Sustainability Manifesto (September 2024).

Chief Executive Officer, AXREM
Sally Edgington is the Chief Executive Officer of AXREM, the trade association representing the interests of suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT, patient monitoring and care equipment in the UK. Sally leads the association managing all aspects of the day to day operation as well as the strategic work and engagement with members.
Having a varied career in both the commercial and third sector Sally has previously held many Managerial positions as National Sales Manager and Membership Engagement Manager for the British Healthcare Trade Association.
During the 10 years Sally has worked in membership she has focused on ensuring members all engage with the trade associations she works within or leads, on raising the standards within the healthcare industry by setting best practice, producing new guidance documents and by ensuring she voices concerns and raises key issues for her members. Sally has also led on substantial parliamentary work attending meetings with parliamentarians, round table discussions, APPG’s and other parliamentary events. Sally is a steering group member for the All party Parliamentary Group for Diagnostics. Sally is also on the National Association of Medical Device Educators & Trainers (NAMDET) Management Group.
Sally is also a voluntary fundraiser having started this at the age of 13 for the Maxillo Facial Fund at Bedford South Wing Hospital, following an accident when she was younger and the 17 maxillo facial operations that followed. Sally has raised thousands of pounds for various other charities including Childline, Guide Dogs for the blind, the and for the last 13 years the RNLI which included running the London marathon in 2011 and having raised to date over £16,000.
Sally brings knowledge of the medical technology industry, a passion for marketing and communication and a desire for inclusion and good industry standards. Sally has also managed many high-profile events including AGM’s, awards dinners, conferences, exhibitions to name a few.

Sustainability Lead UKI , Philips
Chris Taylor is the UKI Sustainability Lead for Philips healthcare and has been working in the Medical Imaging business for over 20 years. In that time, he has been fortunate to work in many different countries around Europe and has seen and supported a lot of the good work in the industry.
He has always been passionate about Climate Change and the effects the industry has on the environment and how together, with the customers, they can collaborate and drive Net Zero ambitions.
For the past 4 years he has been helping to drive the responsible and sustainable growth at Philips UKI and visualise the ambitious climate goals, to improve people’s health and well-being through meaningful innovation, positively impacting 2 billion lives per year by 2025, as well as creating a more sustainable planet for future generations.
In 2022 he took up the role as convener of the Sustainability Special Focus group for AXREM, the trade association representing the suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment in the UK. He was honoured to win the first AXREM award for Sustainability in 2021, for his work in this field.
He is also Vice chair the Healthtech Ireland Sustainability working group, an independent trade association for manufacturers, developers and distributors of health technology products and solutions to the health system in Ireland, as well as a BSi Committee member and an Industry spokesperson on the DHSC Design for Life project.
In his spare time he likes to run, hike and volunteer for the Moors for the Future partnership helping to deliver a landscape scale programme of blanket bog restoration across the Peak District and South Pennine moors.
