Avoid the common pitfalls of LMS implementation
For associations, especially those with small teams, implementing a Learning Management System (LMS) can be a game-changer in providing educational opportunities for members while generating new revenue streams. However, the process of selecting, implementing, and managing an LMS can be difficult without the right resources or expertise.
The Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) began investigating the potential of commissioning an LMS in 2022, viewing it as a commercial opportunity to enhance its member offerings. Through a thorough research process of choosing the right partner and after a 12-month implementation period, ITI launched its first course in August 2024.
Despite the careful planning, ITI faced key questions they hadn’t anticipated, and which ultimately reshaped their approach and team structure. During this seminar Sara Robertson, CEO of ITI will share their journey—along with lessons learned—offering a practical guide to help other associations avoid common pitfalls and successfully launch their own LMS.
